Romantic Weekend at the Royal Hotel Sanremo

Exactly a week ago, my boyfriend and I escaped from our everyday stress and the German weather to spend a romantic weekend at the legendary Royal Hotel Sanremo. My boyfriend’s birthday could’t be a better occasion to celebrate his birthday in such a magical place.

Through my job as a blogger I’m always on the road and I’m at home in the hotels all over the world. However, I have never experienced such indescribable hospitality and such a wonderful welcoming like at the Royal Hotel Sanremo. Every little detail was perfectly planned, and every unspoken wish was read directly from our lips.

I’ll start right from the beginning. After a long trip from Seville to Barcelona, we arrived in Nice, where we were picked up by a friendly driver. After an hour or so we reached the Sanremo station, 55 km north-east of Nice. A small, delightful place which was sparkling by its Italian charm.

The Royal Hotel Sanremo is a 5 star luxury hotel, which was inaugurated for the first time in 1872. A property that you could not imagine. With its ideal location, it is located directly on the sea and surrounded by a 16,000 m² tropical park. The building as well as the decor reminds a little of the baroque and with its ornate details and pompous chandeliers, a women’s heart directly beats faster. With a total of 126 rooms and suites, a large pool & tennis court, 5 different restaurants, there is nothing missing.

When we arrived at the hotel, we had to wait a little while for our room since we arrived before the usual check in times. A short time later we got the key handed out with the indication that we would get an upgrade because of the small wait. The upgrade was an indescribably beautiful suite of 50 sqm, which put us directly on seventh heaven.

With a spacious living room and bedroom, a marbled bathroom, two balconies with the most beautiful ocean view, it just had to be a dream. Barely five minutes later it knocked at our door and a bottle of champagne as welcome gift was brought to our room. All that totally left us speechless but at the same time we couldn’t stop smiling.

A C T I V I T I E S

Even at the reception the first thing they did, was recommending the beautiful Spa-area to us. As a little surprise they booked a spa treatment for us. The next day we were recommended to do a little bike tour on the beach promenade.

We spent the afternoon at the spacious pool area to relax a bit and soak up the sun. Surrounded by palm trees and the sea air in our noses, it is easy to leave the everyday stress behind and completely relax.

In addition to the relaxation program of the spa and pool, the hotel also offers some sports activities. For example, the Royal Hotel Sanremo has a large tennis court.

R E S T A U R A N T S

The hotel offers its guests the choice of five different restaurants both outside and inside.

We decided to got to the restaurant “Fiori di Murano” for the first evening. With the most beautiful table in the front row with sea view, we experienced a romantic candlelight dinner. One course better than the other – but our absolute highlight came at the end. Instead of the dessert my boyfriend Florian was surprised with a birthday cake. Literally the most delicious cake we’ve ever tasted.

When I think back to our little journey, literally everything was just perfect. From the cordial and hospitable staff, the delicious food, to the indescribable beautiful ambience can only get into the rave. The Royal Hotel Sanremo is such a magical place you can only dream of. But one thing is for sure…
