This week, whole Germany is once again in late summer fever. Even in Hamburg it will be up to 30 ° C again. Before the summer will probably end in a few days or weeks, we should really take advantage of the good weather again. Let’s do things we really wanted to do this summer but haven’t done it yet. We have put together a short summer bucket list for you with things that we will definitely do (again) this week.

Discover the city by bike
On a bike through the city, you sometimes discover places that you have never seen before and realise the surroundings as completely different. So grab your bike again, pack some snacks and just go for a ride. Or you look for a nice bike route in your area. Here in Hamburg, for example, you can drive through the “Altes Land”. Especially now when the apple harvest is starting.
Trying the best Ice Cream in town
For us, ice cream and summer simply belongs together. Are you also ice cream lovers like us? How about a kind of scavenger hunt to the best ice cream spots in your city? Or visit a different one every day before the stores go into winter break. We will definitely not miss the opportunity to visit our favorite Luicellas (not just once).
I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream!
Enjoying the sunset in a rooftop bar
Enjoy the sunset on the roof terrace or a rooftop bar above the rooftops of the city, with an aperitif or a spritzer in your hand on a mild summer evening – for us definitely a must-do for the upcoming late summer.
Picnic and BBQ
Get your friends together, prepare a few small salads and snacks, grab picnic blankets or camping chairs and head to the closest park, lake or beach. Sit together, play games and enjoy the sun on your faces. On cold and rainy winter days, we like to think back to exactly those kind of summer days, full of fun and joy.
Open Air Cinema or Concerts
Recently Maike was at an open air concert by Teesy. The new concert series in Hamburg “Draußen im Grünen” is a joint project of two Hamburg music companies that was founded due to the Corona restrictions. Another concert that we could definitely recommend to our hamburgers is Fil Bo Riva on October 22nd.
Not only concerts but also open air cinemas are always a great summer experience for us. Whether as a drive-in cinema, open-air cinema on the water or with seats – in many large and smaller cities there are currently various opportunities to enjoy films and music open air.
Go water-skiing or wakeboarding
Have you ever been water-skiing? We haven’t yet or it was a damn long time ago. So far we’ve only dared to step on the boards in the snow. Time to change that?! We will keep you up to date.

Pedal Boats, Canoes & Co.
We’re staying on the water. An activity that has become even more popular this summer, especially in Hamburg: boating. Whether in the form of a pedal boat, canoe, sailboat, or, or … We are sure that the Alster will be full of people on SUPs or inflatable boats again in the next few days and we will be right in the middle of it 🙂
